Misspellings, Misfortune & Other Dumb Luck!

As my daughter pointed out in my previous post - I can't spell "August" at all!  Consider it my brain working faster than my fingers!  I should have checked all the spelling before posting but I didn't!  Oh well - we have a new month now - AUUGUST!  It's a good thing that's not my name (yeah, that's what my Dad wanted to name me - only spelled the right way!)  No one knows why - I wasn't even born in August! 

So with yesterday being the last day of school, I figured I'd be able to complete stuff I needed to have done for Sunday - that also included getting most of the food stuff & punch ingredients for the grad party - as well as picking up some last minute decoration stuff.  I did go to the store but when I got home I had an emergency I had to handle so with the groceries still in the UNAIRCONDITIONED vehicle, I went to go pick someone up.  I wasn't really sure where I was going & what the deal was.  I was clock watching since Soon to Be 2nd Grader was getting out of school early.  Anyway I found where I needed to be & in the whole process of opening & closing doors, one of my salsa jars fell out & made a big mess on the road.  I sure wouldn't want someone leaving a bunch of glass on the road so I did my best to clean it all up - puncturing my finger in the process.  Grabbed a rag from the vehicle (which I'm sure was crawling with germs and dirt) to stop the bleeding & then finally back to the house.  It was sweltering!  Then I had to lug all the groceries in & put away. 

I finally finished up stuff I'd been trying to get done earlier about 8 p.m. last night.  There's still a few things yet to do.  Pick up a pie (yeah, College Bound Daughter wants a pie for her graduation party!) plus order a cake (for everyone else!).  Saturday I need to run to order balloons to pick up before the party on Sunday & take the food up to the party location so I won't have to do it Sunday.  I just hope the people putting the refreshments together for after church, don't get confused & use my stuff (I'll mark it clearly - just in case!)

And the wind here in North Texas has been HORRIBLE!  Remember my post about flying dogs?  I saw some guy carrying his tiny little dog the other day - it probably started to get airborne & he didn't want to lose the little thing!  I even saw some fences that had fallen down due to the wind.  Would be half way ok if there was a nice cool breeze with all that wind but it's so dry & warm.  Sort of like what I'd expect from the California Santa Ana winds.

If I'm not here in the next couple days I'll be back after graduation is all over & done with & post about it then.

Where I've been OR Tripod Ate My Stuff!

I typed this wonderful post called “What My Mother Taught Me” last Friday in honor of Mother’s Day.  Filled with humor and love – BUT when I told Tripod to “publish” – I got the page that appears when you aren’t logged in to the internet like “you stupid fool, you need to connect for it to work!”  so I hit refresh.  And you know what happened?  It took me back to the blog – without the new post!  UGH! 

 

Earlier last week I was having difficulty so I thought it might be due to the fact I had very limited space left in my account which is why I deleted one of my photo albums.  Then I had plenty of space.  Is Tripod just being touchy lately?  As my sister would say “What IS the deal?”

 

All I know – I really don’t want to have to move this blog again!  I may start posting identical posts to my “Wendy’s Wonders” blog – now that it is allowing me back in to post.  (see link to the left under "My Other Stuff")

 

So did all of the Mom’s have a good Mother’s Day?  Did your family treat you to breakfast, lunch or dinner (or all three)?  Did you get the pampering you so deserve?

Remember how I moaned & groaned about my other blog not letting me get in so I can post?  Well, for some odd reason (probably because google likes me now - who knows?!) - I can get into it now.  I still won't do much over there - BUT . . .

Google Adsense is now running Ads on my site.  For every click I get $$ - I don't know yet if you can just click all day from one ISP or not - but hey, it never hurts to try!

Besides - you never know what kind of good stuff is waiting behind door number 1, 2 or 3!  Give it a try (& help the cause!)

Yesterday I had a horrible time trying to get into this blog or do anything with my tripod account.  Not sure if it was tripod or what.  If you had problems getting in - then I'm guessing it was a tripod thing.  Anyway by yesterday late afternoon everything seemed ok.

If you go looking for the "regular" photo album of photos I had on tripod, I've deleted it.  The amount of space was almost maxed out & since I'm not upgrading to a pay account, thought it was best to delete them.  I'll figure something else out - maybe put them on my photobucket or go to picasa or something.

Moving . . . sorta

So I got a wild hair the other day & decided to check out Wordpress.com - & I sorta liked what I saw on there.  I don't think I'm actually moving my blog there, but I would like to get more creative in blogging about scrapbooking - so I think that's where I'm going to start hanging out - scrap-wise.  I'm so not ready to go "live" at Wordpress just yet & will let you know when I arrive there. 

Do any of you out there - YEAH I'M TALKING TO YOU! - use Wordpress?  and if so . . . do you like it?  Is it comparable to other blogging sites?  Looks like I can upload more info - flickr, links, photos, etc.  What do you think?

What happened to Blogspot?  I had have a blog there - http://wendyswonders.blogspot.com - however, now blotspot wants everyone to have a google account.  Fine, I have one, but when I go to retrieve my OLD blogspot stuff, it won't let me.
