George Peter Werts was born on November 11, 1801 in Loudoun County, Virginia. He was the
third child and first son of (George) Peter Werts and Susannah Huff. His parents were both born in Maryland.
On September 20, 1827 he married Margaret Maple, daughter of William B. Maple and Sarah Fuller. She was born
December 22, 1808 in Coshocton County, Ohio. Eight children were born to this marriage. Margaret died on May 13, 1851. She was buried
in New Hope Cemetery, Adams Township, Muskingum County, Ohio. George married Willimina Swank on September 16, 1852 in
Muskingum County. It is unknown if Willimina died or the marriage ended. He then married Mary Shrigley on September 11, 1860 in
Coshocton, Ohio. George died on July 29, 1866 in Muskingum County, Ohio with burial in Adamsville, Muskingum County, Ohio.

JULIANN WERTS
Juliann Werts was the first child of George Peter Werts and Margaret Maple. She was
born on June 25, 1828 in Muskingum County, Ohio. On January 4, 1849 she married Quincy Adam Shirer in Muskingum County.
Juliann died on April 7, 1854.

WILLIAM WASHINGTON WERTS
William Washington Werts was born on Christmas - December 25th - 1829 in Muskingum County, Ohio. He married
Louisa Bookless, daughter of David Bookless and Mary Cartmell, on August 24, 1852. Louisa was born
April 13, 1834 in Muskingum County. A son and a daughter were born to this union before William died April 7, 1857. Louisa remarried on
April 28, 1861 to John Simon in Coshocton, Ohio.

JOHN JACKSON WERTS
John Jackson Werts was born on February 6, 1831 in Muskingum County, Ohio. On
May 28, 1854 he married Esther Ann Wymer. Six children were born to this union. Before he died on October 27, 1901, John moved
to Russell, Lucas County, Iowa. He was buried there.

the marriage if this information is accurate.

MARY JANE WERTS
Mary Jane Werts was born on March 14, 1835 in Muskingum County, Ohio. She married
Jacob Kerns Vinsel on November 11, 1852 in Muskingum County. She died on March 5, 1917 in
Russell, Lucas County, Iowa and was buried in the Russell Cemetery there. It is unknown if there were any
children from this marriage.

JACOB HENRY WERTS
